The course aims to develop students’ advanced reading abilities and build practical vocabulary on various topics. With the pre-reading, during-reading, post-reading techniques and activities, students can become better readers and cultivate critical thinking habits. After this course, students should be able to acquire grammar rules and use the following strategies better while reading: skimming and scanning, reading for detail, reading for the main idea, inferring, critical reading and vocabulary building (synonyms and antonyms, word association, collocations and expressions.)
