本課程將專題介紹中西工藝設計之重要器物、理論與技術，由中國至臺灣與西方現今工藝之演變為基礎，概略敘述其設計之方法與型態，另會以樹狀結構圖來與同學討論材料在各區域與運用的發展，讓同學在思考與運作的同時，了解工藝設計之技巧與發展。
